Homemade Treats

'Homemade Treats' is a book of 36 photographs, each documenting an artefact made from household objects, that look like or allude to a sweet food item.

This project was designed in response to a university project brief. The task was to explore how familiar forms and materials can be altered to create new visual associations, subsequently producing a book of 36 images that share a conceptual and/or visual constraint.

The concept I explored was food that wasn't food; using household objects to create artefacts that looked like or alluded to sweet food items. To create a consistent series, I photographed the "homemade treats" against a set of brightly coloured backgrounds which complemented the dessert theme and playful tone of the project.
